Check your permissions: go to iPhone Settings > Privacy > Health > Jump Rope Fit.
Adjust your watch’s jump sensitivity in the app. Tap Settings > Jump Detection to select a new sensitivity. This is helpful for heavy ropes, speed jumps, or limited wrist movement.
To ensure accurate calorie counts, check that both active and resting calorie permissions are enabled. If the issue persists, it could be related to sensor readings on your watch. By default, a brisk walk estimate is applied if sensor data isn’t available.
Jump accuracy can vary depending on the type of rope you use. Boxer-style ropes with moderate weight tend to work best, as their balance and resistance naturally encourage consistent wrist movement and smooth rotations. Some lightweight speed ropes or heavier ropes with minimal handle movement may result in less consistent tracking. We recommend experimenting with different ropes to find one that complements both your style and the app’s tracking capabilities.
We recommend using a PVC rope—often referred to as a boxer rope. It offers the best balance of speed, control, and feedback, making it perfect for most jump rope workouts tracked in the app.
